God the Mighty Warrior

God the Mighty Warrior

God is a mighty warrior who fights for His people. The prophet Isaiah refers to God’s might stating,

No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.

Isaiah 54:17

Be encouraged. God fights on our behalf. He is the Mighty Warrior, the Lord of the Army of Hosts. There is no one and nothing on this earth that is greater than Him. The Puritan John Flavel wrote,

The most powerful means that have been employed to destroy God’s people have been rendered ineffective.

Jesus said that the gates of Hell would not prevail against His Church (Matthew 16:18). He is stronger than any person or power Christ followers will encounter in this world. God the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers, fighting on our behalf. We can find strength, encouragement, and peace in Him regardless of how or by whom we are attacked.

We fight in His strength using His armor and HIs Word (Ephesians 6:10-18). We are totally dependent upon Him in our battles against the enemy. Without Him we can do nothing.

Abide in God the Mighty Warrior. Find your refuge in His strength. Rest in the shadow of His wing. Rely on His power to bring you out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). Turn to His Word and to Him in prayer to prepare yourself for your daily battles. Know that we win no battles based on our own strength. The battles belong to the Lord.

As Christ followers, we fight battles in a war that’s already been won! Our Mighty Warrior has conquered death, sin, and Hell!

Are you trusting in God to be your Mighty Warrior? Are you turning to Him daily to fight your battles?

Blessings!
